Il s’est retiré d’autres tournois de tennis aux États-Unis plus tôt cette année parce que les Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) exigent la vaccination CONTRE LA COVID-19 pour les étrangers.

Jean-Pierre dit à Doocy :

« Depuis que vous m’avez posé des questions à son sujet, ces documents sont confidentiels en vertu de la loi américaine, de sorte que le gouvernement américain ne peut pas parler des détails des cas de visa individuels. Pour des raisons de confidentialité, le gouvernement américain ne commente pas non plus les informations médicales sur les voyageurs individuels, telles que celles disponibles pour ce joueur de tennis.

Elle a ajouté que la vaccination obligatoire pour les ressortissants étrangers est une exigence du CDC. « Je vous renvoie au CDC. ... c’est quelque chose qu’ils décident.

Elle a ajouté que Doocy devrait se tourner vers l’US Open car ils établissent leurs propres protocoles de présence. Elle a suggéré que la situation de Djokovic et celle des immigrants illégaux étaient « deux choses différentes ».

Comment peut-il s’agir de deux choses différentes?

Doocy poursuit :

« Quelles sont ces deux choses différentes? Si quelqu’un entre dans l’avion sans être vacciné, dites que ce n’est pas correct. Quelqu’un qui vient au Texas ou en Arizona sans être vacciné est autorisé à rester? »

« Ce n’est pas comme ça que ça marche. ... Ce n’est pas comme si quelqu’un venait de tomber sur quelqu’un », a-t-elle déclaré.

« C’est exactement ce qui se passe ici », intervint Doocy. « Des milliers de personnes viennent chaque jour. Certains d’entre eux reviennent. Certains d’entre eux se font prendre. Des dizaines de milliers de personnes par semaine ne sont pas capturées. C’est ce qui se passe.

Jean-Pierre a répondu en énumérant une liste en cours de ce que l’administration Biden a fait en matière d’immigration.

« Nous avons installé de nouvelles technologies frontalières et créé des protocoles conjoints avec le Mexique et le Guatemala pour capturer davantage de trafiquants. Au cours des trois premiers mois après le lancement d’une campagne sans précédent contre la contrebande avec des partenaires régionaux, nous avons déjà procédé à plus de 3 000 arrestations », a-t-elle déclaré.

Parmi les autres initiatives, citons l’allocation de « montants records » de financement au département de la Sécurité intérieure, l’embauche de « juges spéciaux de l’immigration » pour traiter les demandes d’asile plus rapidement et l’élargissement des possibilités d’emploi, y compris les visas H-2B, a déclaré Jean-Pierre.

« En revanche, la stratégie d’immigration de l’administration précédente était de construire un mur, et même pas qu’ils ont réussi au cours des quatre années », a-t-elle déclaré, rejetant la politique de l’administration Trump de « ne pas fonctionner ».

« Ce n’est pas comme si les gens traversaient la frontière à pied, nous avons élaboré un plan. Ce n’est pas comme allumer la lumière, ça va être un processus. Nous réparons un système défaillant qui a été laissé pour compte par le dernier gouvernement », a-t-elle déclaré.

« Quant à la star du tennis, c’est un processus complètement différent, c’est l’US Open auquel il participe, et il y a une directive fédérale du CDC qu’il doit suivre. »

« Mais pourquoi y a-t-il une exigence du CDC pour les personnes qui volent ici par opposition aux personnes qui traversent la frontière sud? » a demandé Doocy.

« Nous avons parlé de l’article 42. L’article 42 est une exigence du CDC », a-t-elle déclaré.

« Mais vous l’avez aboli parce que vous avez dit que la pandémie n’était plus un gros problème », a noté Doocy.

La politique de l’article 42 introduite par Trump a permis aux agents des frontières d’expulser immédiatement les immigrants illégaux au Mexique s’ils pouvaient poser un risque pour la santé au milieu de la pandémie de COVID-19.

Depuis son lancement en mars 2020, les autorités frontalières ont pu refouler les immigrants illégaux plus de 1,9 million de fois à la frontière sud des États-Unis sans leur donner la possibilité de demander l’asile.

L’administration Biden a annoncé plus tôt cette année qu’elle abrogerait l’article 42, mais un juge a forcé le gouvernement à maintenir la règle en mai.

« Ce n’est pas comme ça que ça marche, l’article 42 est toujours en vigueur », a déclaré Jean-Pierre à Doocy.

« Et c’est le processus. Il y a donc une disposition du CDC pour les personnes qui traversent la frontière sud. Cela ne s’applique pas seulement aux joueurs de tennis. Pour les migrants, il y a aussi une directive cdc que nous devons suivre, qui est l’article 42. Donc, ce n’est pas le cas, c’est factuellement faux. »

Stratégie inverse

Depuis son entrée en fonction, le président Joe Biden a renversé un certain nombre de politiques d’immigration et de frontières de l’administration Trump. Il s’agit notamment d’arrêter et éventuellement de suspendre la construction du mur frontalier, d’abroger l’ordonnance du président Donald Trump de « rester au Mexique » pour les nouveaux arrivants arrivant avant le 1er janvier et de se retirer de l’application des pouvoirs d’urgence de l’article 42 pendant la pandémie de COVID-19 en exemptant les enfants d’immigrants illégaux et de nombreuses unités familiales de l’expulsion en vertu de cette politique.

Au cours des 18 mois qui se sont écoulés depuis l’entrée en fonction de Biden, près de 5 millions d’immigrants illégaux ont traversé les frontières américaines, selon la Fédération pour la réforme de l’immigration américaine (FAIR) dans un communiqué du 16 août.

« Environ l’équivalent de toute la population irlandaise a immigré illégalement aux États-Unis au cours des 18 mois où le président Biden a été au pouvoir, et beaucoup d’entre eux ont été libérés dans les communautés américaines », a déclaré le président de FAIR, Dan Stein, dans le communiqué.

Les douanes et les gardes-frontières ont déclaré que plus de 2 millions de migrants ont été appréhendés cette année fiscale – un record. Au milieu de la crise de l’immigration, plusieurs comtés du Texas ont qualifié la situation d'«invasion ». Les autorités ont également fait référence à des drogues, y compris le fentanyl, qui traversent la frontière.
