A Talisman can change the feel of a Lord of Hatred build more than you'd expect. Pick a Seal, fill its sockets with Charms, and small bonuses can start stacking up fast. That's why players hunting for better D4 items tend to keep an eye on every drop instead of treating the new system as inventory fluff. Seals come in several rarities, and Charms do too. A solid Legendary Seal is a great find; a Mythic one can be a proper jackpot. Then there are Set Charms, which are worth collecting as a group, plus the odd Unique Charm that fits your build better than anything else.

Don't scrap every spare Seal

You'll still end up with loads of extras. That part's unavoidable. Most players break down unwanted Seals and Charms for crafting materials, then use the Horadric Cube to reroll Set Charms or combine three unwanted pieces into one fresh item. It's a handy loop when you're chasing a missing set bonus or trying to fix weak affixes. But Legendary Seals deserve a quick pause before you dismantle them. Their material return may look useful in the moment, yet the gold value can be much harder to replace after a few expensive trips to the Enchanter.

Quick value table

Item type | Typical vendor value | Usual choice.
Legendary Seal | Just over 13 million gold | Sell if materials aren't urgently needed.
Mythic Seal | Around 150 million gold | Think carefully before doing anything with it.
Unique Charm | Roughly 8 million gold | Check the effect, then sell unwanted copies.
Mythic Unique weapon or armour | Often only hundreds of thousands | Usually far less valuable at vendors.
Rare Rune | Often tens of thousands | Not a major source of vendor gold.

Gold matters more than it seems

Thirteen million gold from one unwanted Legendary Seal isn't pocket change. A couple of bad rerolls can drain your stash before you've even seen the affix you wanted, especially when you're tweaking endgame gear. Selling a Seal gives you room to experiment without having to stop and farm gold again. That doesn't mean dismantling is always wrong. If you're one crafting session away from a meaningful Charm reroll, take the materials. Still, it's worth asking one simple question: do I need this resource now, or am I just clicking salvage because that's what I always do?

Make each drop pull its weight

Mythic Seals make the choice even sharper. At about 150 million gold, an unwanted one can fund plenty of upgrades, while a Unique Charm can bring in around 8 million. Before clearing your bags, check whether the effect has a niche use, whether it completes a set, and whether its sale price would help more. Players looking to stretch their budget through D4 items cheap purchases can use that extra gold for gear gaps, rerolls, or build experiments without feeling broke after one unlucky session.
